IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN WHERE DINING IS MORE FUN OUTSIDE. Let’s get into it with the endless possibilities of outdoor dining. It’s time to ask that timeless question how am I going to decorate this outdoor space? Here are a few thoughts for designing for dining outdoors. Table placement and setting are key. Your table is your focal point so dress it up with a tablecloth. Here is where you add your pop of color or a white tablecloth if you are doing elegant dining.
Your centerpiece for any occasion should be within the scale size of the table. If a white tablecloth is used here is where your color scheme develops.
If your tablecloth is going to be a color such as blue or gray use white floral arrangements, a white vase, or add art that’s bold and becomes a topic of conversation.
Next, plate wear choosing plates that complement the occasion is key. If paper plates are being used be sure they contribute to your color scheme. If China wear or porcelain plates are being used make sure the color and or pattern don’t steal the spotlight from your centerpiece.
If choosing plates with colors such as red, black, and blue be sure to keep it simple, simple is key to elegance.
Bring it all together with seating and lighting. For seating, it may be as simple as a bow on the back of a chair or a color seat cushion if wooden chairs are being used. *Keep in mind that the color seat cushion should blend with the color scheme.
Lastly, lighting your outdoor space should be fun. Use string lighting you can buy or youtube some DIY videos. This is fun and great for nighttime dining.
Hope these tips are helpful and I can’t wait until next time when I will be giving ideas for bathroom spaces in my next blog.
